Welcome to learning German
the Hypnotic way
Language is one of the miracles of human life. We take it for granted, yet no one knows for sure where language comes from and how exactly we acquire it. Like fire, we seem to have stolen it from the gods: anthropologists have yet to find a people whose language is still evolving. No matter how 'primitive' a group seem, language is always perfect, with full grammar and a complete vocabulary to express the reality it belongs to.
Even today, when artificial intelligence can translate for us, we remain fascinated by learning and speaking languages in addition to our mother tongue. Sometimes we use it for work or for travel; sometimes it is our heritage or a culture we feel drawn to. Whatever our motivation, we know it will be a challenge, and we seek the most effective -- and pleasurable way -- to tackle it.

My affinity for learning and teaching languages came with the mother's milk, so to speak, having grown up bilingual (in Hungarian and German) as the daughter of a passionate language teacher. Combined with my lifelong fascination with the humanities -- I studied law, social anthropology, and clinical hypnotherapy -- this led me to experiment with the most effective language acquisition methods. Especially intriguing was the idea that perhaps a hypnotic course could be created where all the student had to do was lean back, listen, relax, and soak up the language through the power of the subconscious mind. Twelve years of study, research, and experimentation, however, revealed something interesting: While that method certainly yielded results, it was neither the fastest -- nor the most satisfying.
It seems that the adult human mind likes something to bite into. Just listening to endless subliminal suggestions, having the language spoon-fed into the subconscious, soon becomes as boring and unmotivating as endlessly memorizing grammar and vocabulary, like most of us did in school. Yet, everything changes when both the rational brain and the subconscious are engaged. When we combine understanding with intution, relaxation techniques with stimulating puzzles, thoughts with emotions, then both hemispheres of the brain are drawn in: mind, spirit, and soul are all engaged. Language learning works best when it is holistic, and in that way it becomes something more: an exploration into the deeper workings of our minds and motivations.
What is HypnoGerman?
HypnoGerman is a hypnotherapy-based language learning system that combines relaxation and visualization techniques with building a solid foundation for grammar and vocabulary acquisition.
It aids natural language acquisition, bypassing internal translation, helping you to build German inside your mind step-by-step.
Hypnotic techniques can further aid you by giving you confidence to speak a foreign language, clear out blocks, remove anxieties and limiting beliefs which may hold you back.
The main principles of the system are:

The main principles of the system are:
|
RELAXATION.
The brain works best it is in a relaxed state (producing slower, so-called Alpha brain waves). Hence the hypnotic approach: visualization and relaxation techniques help you not just to learn better, but to feel better and overcome any internal barriers. |
VISUALIZATION.
When we learn our first language, we link words to images and concepts. HypnoGerman utilizes the same principle and teaches by using pictures, sounds and even emotions to teach you new material -- just like a child would learn their native tongue. |
THINK IN GERMAN.
By linking new words to images (and new grammar to words you've already learned), we bypass the need to constantly rely on your mother tongue. That will save your brain a lot of time and effort -- you will learn to really think and speak in a new language. |
|
REPETITION.
Studies show that you have to come across a newly learned word at least a hundred times before you can use it automatically and won't forget it again. We use a vocabulary system to ensure you recap at optimal intervals and retain them in long-term memory. |
Brick by Brick.
HypnoGerman builds your new language "brick by brick." Starting with the smallest building blocks of the language, sounds, moving on to words, simple sentences and dialogues; it all happens step by step, so that you never have to feel lost or overwhelmed. |
MULTIMEDIA.
HypnoGerman is online based: you learn in real-life lessons from the convenience of your home, office, or wherever you are in the world. Lessons include hypnotic visualisations, shared-screen presentations, real-life videos, interactive exercises and tests. |
HypnoGerman is very personal. Even though the method has evolved over more than ten years of working with international students -- and now includes a wealth of multimedia materials -- I still teach my classes in person and build meaningful relationships, often lasting friendships with my students. Language is learned best, when it is about real life, to your interest, and to your authentic self. Over time, we'll talk about what truly interests you , not just what’s written in a book. You will gain more than a language: you’ll enter a new culture that enriches your life and reveals dimensions of who you are. We have a saying: 'Each language you speak makes you a new person.' Through learning a new language, you’ll explore and expand parts of your Self. And of course -- you’ll have plenty of opportunity to speak.
